Moved Out

We are officially homeless! Except not really because we are staying with Katie and Andrew for a few nights until we drive to Texas on Saturday.

We got everything moved in to storage last night thanks to the help of our AMAZING friends who were literally throwing boxes in trying to make the 9 pm deadline at the storage facility. Apparently, if you are in the unit at 9 pm when it closes, the elevator stops working and you just get locked in. It was the first working day for the lady who checked us in and gave us keys yesterday around 5 pm before the office closed. I told her we would be moving in that night, and she failed to mention that there was a separate key you have to check out from her to unlock the large sliding door to get your stuff through. So we just had to go through the small door! I think I might have to go let her know she should tell people next time. But, there was a man I call the cart angel who just "happened" to be there with a key to get access to some large carts for moving boxes. If we hadn't had these, I don't think we would have been able to get the boxes downstairs in time.

It felt a little crazy yesterday trying to get all of the last few items packed, etc. and get the apartment cleaned after we moved all the stuff out. And yes, it is weird to be out of our "perfect" apartment we just moved in to 5 months ago.

Jared and I will set out on our 2 1/2 day drive Saturday morning early! First stop, Las Cruces, NM after a 12 hour drive, then the second night we will stay with Jared's grandparents who we haven't seen in a looooong time in Bandera, TX (close to San Antonio). Then Monday we will head to Houston. Can't wait to see our families and friends! We have "The Historian on mp3 which is 11 hours long to keep us company!

Well, we certainly have been prepping for this move for a while, but I am excited to see everything fall in to place once we get there! London in 11 days!
